Chestnuts, coffee, almonds…and chocolate chips
Nothing says “fall” more than chestnuts…isn’t it true? In this recipe they are perfectly paired with coffee, almonds and chocolate chips in a delicious cake for you.
It will be the perfect breakfast to begin your day, or a sweet mid-day snack and – why not? – a great dessert to your dinner.
The Recipe
Ingredients (6-8 servings)
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 2 1/2 chestnut flour
- ¾ cup milk
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 4 almonds
- 2 espresso shots
- ½ cup chocolate chips
- 1tsp baking powder
- Icing sugar
The perfect coffee to be used in this recipe it’s our Caffè Aiello 100% Arabica.
How to prepare the cake
- Whisk the eggs and sugar together in a bowl
- Pour in the vegetable oil while you keep whisking
- Take the sifted chestnuts flour and add it in little by little
- Pour in the cocoa powder – make sure you form no lumps!
- Mix the coffee and the milk together and add it into the bowl a little bit at the time
- Mix everything until you get a smooth texture
- Preheat the oven and bake for 40 minutes at 365F
Once your cake is ready, leave it to cool before serving. You can add some icing sugar on top!
